Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)

A candidate must meet the following eligibility conditions and have the Application for Admission as an Associate accepted by the SOA Board of Directors in order to earn the designation of Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).

Requirements include:

  • Examinations

  • E-Learning course

  • A proctored project-based assessment

  • Validation of educational experience (VEE)

  • A seminar (Associateship Professionalism Course)

NOTE: Some changes have been made to the ASA pathway.

Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) 

A candidate must meet the following eligibility conditions to earn the designation of Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).

​

  • Completing the ASA criteria is a must. (Completed prior to entering a fellowship track.)

  • Choose a specialty track and complete the requirements of that track.
